Hi, I’m Teresa, many of you might already know me from my Substack blog. If you’ve found your way here from there, thank you, truly. Your support and the beautiful little community we’ve built around typewriters means more to me than I can put into words.

After nearly four years of selling on Etsy and Instagram, and with over 300 typewriters finding new homes, I’m beyond excited to finally announce the launch of my very own website. None of this would have been possible without your incredible support, and for that I’m truly grateful.

Here’s a little background about me, for those who don’t know me yet, before you step into a space filled with beautiful typewriters:

My passion for typewriters began when I was 14. I was given an old machine from a flea market, a bit scratched, some keys sticking, but it worked just enough for me to fall in love. At that time, I didn’t know anything about how they worked, or even how to install a ribbon! But it did not stop me to try. That typewriter became my new way of writing.

My love for writing came long before I understood what I was doing, it was born from reading, daydreaming, and that need to understand myself through words. Over time, my handwritten notes slowly became typed pages, and everyone around me had a letter sent with lots of love, as well as patience and some mistakes. There was something about the sound of the keys, the weight of the words on paper, and the power of simply expressing that resonated with me.

It wasn’t until I started university that I became curious about the machines themselves, how they worked and how to take care of them. With help and patience, I learned to open them up, clean them, fix the misalignments, replace ribbons, adjust tension, and many other things. What once felt like mysterious, fragile and antique, it began to feel like small mechanical puzzles full of history. Now, I can say I truly enjoy the process, both the technical and the emotional.

The Typewriter Tale was born from that love. From wanting to give these machines a second life, and from the joy I feel when someone, somewhere, appreciates them just like me.

Every typewriter in this shop has been carefully selected, cleaned, tested, and appreciated.

Welcome to The Typewriter Tale. I’m so happy you're here!
